Embark on a scenic drive to Paleokastritsa village, the mythical island of the Phaeacians, regarded as one of the most attractive areas in all the Mediterranean. In the settlement's area, there are six small coves and seven beaches separated by round-shaped capes. With its incredible turquoise water and rugged coastline draped in olive and lemon trees; you cannot fail to be impressed. Just a short drive away, perched on a cliff, you'll find The Virgin Mary Monastery, the 18th-century complex offering unrivaled views of the area.
Continuing to the village of Gastouri, you'll visit the Achilleion Palace (the colonial palace from the James Bond movie 'For Your Eyes Only') and explore the hill-top gardens containing statues such as the dramatic Dying Achilles (built in the 1890s as a summer palace for Elisabeth von Wittelsbach, Empress of Austria). The views from the village are spectacular.
The setting for your traditional lunch will be a local restaurant in the nearby village of Kinopiastes. Here you can relax with a glass of wine. After lunch in Kinopiastes, you will visit the elegant and charming Corfu Town, including a visit to St. Spyridon Church, a single nave basilica with the highest bell tower in the Ionian Islands. The church is home to the relics of Saint Spyridon, a shepherd who used all his substance for the needs of his neighbors while healing those who were incurably sick.

Lunch consists of seasonal vegetables dish, feta cheese with extra virgin olive oil, oregano and "specheriko". Vegetable Pie with baked with seasonal vegetables, eggs and cheese. Penne pasta with a spicy sun dried tomato pate and sun dried tomatoes served with greek pecorino cheese. Green salad with seeds, raisins and a fresh fig chutney & citrus fruit vinergarette dressing. Tzatziki, Spring Chicken - baked chicken filet with a yogurt, mint & lemon sauce served with rice or couscous. Pork Dolce Garbo - lean pork meat cubes cooked with onions, white wine, red wine vinegar, rosemary and spices, served with polenta, pasta or potatoes. Dessert is cake in syrup. Beverages are coffee and house wine.
Special Instructions
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sensible, flat-soled walking shoes. Sunscreen, a bottle of water and sunglasses are also recommended. For those wishing to visit any churches, remember that shoulders and knees must be covered.

Prior to joining Abercrombie & Kent, Mr. Miller held a variety of executive positions with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises for more than a decade. These positions included Vice President of Guest Sales & Service, Vice President of Brand Development, and Vice President of Onboard Revenue (which included shore excursions). Mr. Miller also led Celebrity Expeditions, a collection of outstanding and unique tours around the World.
Michael Bonner
Mr. Bonner has over a decade of experience working in the cruise industry in a variety of roles for both Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Viking River Cruises. Most recently, Mr. Bonner was the Chief Operating Officer for The Scholar Ship, a Royal Caribbean program aimed at providing college students onboard educational programs in conjunction with enriching shore excursions around the world. Mr. Bonner also helped co-manage Viking River Cruises U.S. Operations, and he ran the corporate, strategic, and deployment planning functions at Royal Caribbean.
